The Thomastik Infeld THDP-03A Dominant Pro D string is an advanced string for 4/4 violins with a synthetic core and a specially developed silver alloy winding. This string is central to the character of the entire string set, directly influencing the tonal balance and lifespan of the other strings. Thanks to its innovative design, this D string combines the refined brightness and projection of a silver string with the responsiveness of aluminum, without the usual disadvantages of either material.

The string delivers a powerful, room-filling sound with a bell-like tone and a broad spectrum of timbres. The response is fast and refined, with minimal bowing noise and high resistance to bow pressure. Despite its high resilience, the string feels supple under the fingers and is exceptionally resistant to wolf tones. Over its lifespan, the tone evolves from warm and round to open and brilliant, without losing stability or color.
